• Initial Cost: The initial cost of installing the Alumalight® is comparable to that of metal halide fixtures.
• Relamping Cost: The cost of a group relamping of Alumalight® T5 four lamp fixtures, for example, is comparable to that of metal halide fixtures. The major difference is that to maintain the desired light levels, metal halide lamps have to be relamped two or three times during a 20,000 hour to 25,000 hour operating cycle, whereas fluorescent fixtures would only have to be relamped at the end of the cycle.
• Operating Cost: T5 and T8 fixtures use less wattage and amperage than metal halide fixtures, so energy costs will be significantly reduced.

The combined economic benefits of changing from existing metal halide fixtures to T5 and T8 fluorescent technology are very compelling. Payback, predicated on operating hours and the cost of installation, typically ranges from one to four years.
